Bernard Lewis White
Bernard Lewis White, 88, of Cortez, died Oct. 14. He was born June 23, 1926.
A service was held Oct. 20 in Wethersfield, Connecticutt.

Mr. White is survived by wife Doris; children Lewis, Clarke, Cindi and Scott; and nine grandchildren.
Pieter Moen Hahn
Pieter Moen Hahn, 60, of Bradenton, died Aug. 25. He was born July 5, 1954, in Wareham, Massachusetts, and was raised on Cape Cod in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
A celebration of life for Mr. Hahn will be held 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Anna Maria Island Beach Cafe at the Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach.
Mr. Hahn, described as “a friend, family member, fantastic travel agent and loved one by all who knew him,” requested no service. His wish was for people to have a beach party.
Memorials may be made by giving a flower to a loved one or friend; a call to a relative, friend, or classmate you haven’t spoken to recently; or donate to a church, charity, service or veterans organization.
Mr. Hahn is survived by brother Benjamin A. Mixter and wife Terri of Big Pine Key; sisters Tineke of Stuart, Erika of Falmouth, Massachusetts, and Heidi Lepage of Uxbridge, Massachusetts; aunt Alison Alton Robb of North Falmouth, Massachusetts; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; honorary adopted big sister, Dee Ferreira, and honorary brothers Ron Jarvis and Phillip Thrapp; and his friends at Fantasy Travel.
Gary Lee Shardell
Gary Lee Shardell, 73, of Bradenton, and Anna Maria Island died Oct. 15.
He waged several battles against cancer and died while surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Shardell enjoyed birds, real estate and orchids, as well as an occasional game of poker, a good game of billiards and a great find at a garage sale.
Most of all, he enjoyed his family.
He is survived by wife Christine; sons Jeff and Dean Foster and wife Mira; sisters Jean Koperski and husband Bill and Laura Toth and husband John; brother Dennis and wife Rita; and grandchildren Leo and Luke.
Alice M. Szakacs
Alice M. Szakacs, 86, of Holmes Beach, died Oct. 16. She was born in Middletown, New Jersey, and moved to Holmes Beach in 1976 from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
Mrs. Szakacs attended St. Bernard Catholic Church.
