The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported that a convicted sex offender from Osceola County near Orlando temporarily moved to Bradenton Beach Nov. 7.
The 66-year-old man listed his address in the 200 block of Gulf Drive South — a vacation accommodation — as temporary.
In August 2005, the man was placed on supervised probation with adjudication withheld in a case of sexual battery in Kissimmee in Osceola County.
The FDLE website also reports the man has two out-of-state cases involving lewd and lascivious behavior with a child under the age of 16. In both cases, adjudication was withheld and the man placed on supervised probation.
Under Florida law, convicted sex offenders must report any address change, even temporary, to the FDLE within seven days of moving to a new location.
Bradenton Beach Police Chief Sam Speciale said his department made contact with the man.
Speciale said the vacationer was expected to return to Kissimmee by Nov. 15. He said officers would check to ensure the man left his temporary address.
Bradenton Beach has one convicted sex offender who lists his permanent address in the city, while Holmes Beach has two convicted sex offenders residing in the city.
Two convicted sex offenders have Cortez addresses, according to the FDLE website.
No convicted sexual predators reside in Anna Maria, according to the FDLE database.
