The Florida Department of Transportation encourages motorists to slow down and use caution when approaching work crews on or along roadsides, where exceeding the speed limit can double the fine.
The DOT has issued the following alerts:
• Gulf Drive/State Road 789 at the Longboat Key Drawbridge: Crews are working on the bridge. Expect intermittent nighttime/overnight eastbound and westbound lane closures daily, 9 p.m.-5 a.m., through April 2.
• Cortez Road/State Road 684 from 75th Street to 66th Street and from 66th Street to 51st Street in Bradenton: Crews are working on maintenance. Expect eastbound lane closures, 8 p.m.-6 a.m. through April 1.
• Cortez Road/State Road 684 at the Cortez Bridge: Expect nighttime/overnight intermittent east and westbound lane closures 9 p.m.-5 a.m. March 31-April 2. If needed, the DOT will revise the dates.
