Feb. 27, 100 block of Magnolia Avenue, license. After a deputy observed a motorist from Palmetto run a stop sign, he stopped and ticketed him. The deputy also issued the man a summons for an expired driver’s license and seized the old license.

Bradenton Beach
March 2, 2200 block of Gulf Drive South, vehicle burglary. A backpack containing electronics was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle while the family was attending a craft show. The value of the items was estimated at $435.
March 2, 120 Bridge St., battery. A Bradenton Beach man was arrested after he allegedly pushed a man against the wall of the bar following a verbal argument inside the bar about the suspect wearing the victim’s shirt. The victim fell to the sidewalk and sustained minor injuries. The suspect was transported to the Manatee County jail.

Cortez
Feb. 25, 10100 block of Cortez Road West, domestic battery. An argument between a couple vacationing from New Jersey turned physical when the woman attempted to leave in a vehicle. The man allegedly jumped into the car behind her seat and began applying pressure to her neck, causing her not to breathe. The man was arrested and transported to Manatee County jail.
Feb. 26, 4400 block of 123rd Street, Baker Act. A man was taken into custody after being verbally abusive.

Holmes Beach
Feb. 24, 4900 block of Gulf Drive, license. A construction worker from North Port was issued citations for no valid driver’s license, no registration and operating a vehicle with a defaced tag. Police stopped the truck because its tag was unreadable, and determined the driver had no license. The driver produced a registration that did not match the vehicle. A towing company removed the vehicle after the driver called others to help him remove tools and building materials.
Feb. 25, 100 block of 43rd Street, license. Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because a front seat passenger was not wearing a seat belt. A man from Venice was driving on a suspended license and could not produce the vehicle’s registration. The officer issued the driver citations for DWLS and failure to provide the vehicle registration, and ticketed the passenger for not wearing a seatbelt.
Feb. 25, 200 block of 54th Street, theft. A resident reported two bicycles stolen from a screened-in front porch. The Newport Ladies’ Beach Cruisers were valued at $300.
Feb. 26, 3300 block of Gulf Drive, license. Police conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The Bradenton man told the officer his license was suspended out of Colorado. He was issued a citation for DWLS with knowledge.
Feb. 27, 500 block of Key Royale, criminal mischief. An unknown person cut a vinyl window on a vehicle. Damage was estimated at $500.
