A former employee of a Holmes Beach restaurant was sentenced to three years of drug court probation for seven counts of forgery.
As part of a no-contest plea deal March 26, Chelsea Rose Maksimowicz, 27, of Bradenton, was found guilty and sentenced to a drug treatment program to be monitored by the 12th Judicial Circuit Court.
Chief Judge Andrew D. Owens Jr. also entered a restitution order April 2 that requires Maksimowicz to pay $1,815 to the SunTrust Bank as a condition of her probation. The restitution equals the amount of the seven checks the state alleged she forged.
The case began about a year ago when the former owner of Old Hamburg Schnitzelhaus, 3246 E. Bay Drive, complained to the Holmes Beach Police Department of unauthorized check writing.
Owens also ordered Maksimowicz to pay $1,825 in fines, write an apology letter and stay away from the victim.
