Key Royale golf news
The Key Royale Club women got out April 14 and played a nine-hole, individual-low-net golf match in four flights.
Liz Lang carded a 4-under-par 28 to edge Pam Lowry and Sue Little by one stroke to win flight A.
Judy Christensen’s 3-under-par 29 gave her first place in Flight B. Meredith Slavin was alone in second place with a 1-under-par 31.
Terry Westby and Markie Ksiazek both carded even-par 32s to finish in a tie for first place in Flight C, while Marcia O’Brien grabbed the top spot in Flight D with a 2-under-par 30. Eileen Witzgall was four shots back in second place.
The team of Marvin Gangami and Debbie Rhodes celebrated tax day with the only 3-0 pool play record in the April 15 horseshoe action. They were the day’s outright champions at the Anna Maria City Hall horseshoe pits.
Two teams emerged from pool play during April 18 action and battled for the day’s bragging rights.
Just when it seemed that Dom Lividoti was going to walk his way to victory in the finals for the second straight Saturday, the team of Rod Bussey and Adin Shank came from behind to earn a 22-20 victory.
Play gets underway at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday at the Anna Maria City Hall pits. Warmups begin at 8:45 a.m.
