May 5, 400 block of Magnolia Avenue, lost property. A woman reported she lost her medication.
May 5, 300 block of Poinsettia Road, information. A handgun was turned in to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office for destruction.
May 8, 100 block of Oak Avenue, found property. A rental property owner reported finding a small amount of marijuana and pipe in his unit. The items were collected for destruction.
May 11, 300 block of Pine Avenue, found property. A wallet was found on a parked patrol car. It was put into MCSO safekeeping.

Cortez
May 19, 3900 block of Mariners Walk, battery. An MCSO deputy responded to a call about a verbal dispute at a construction site. A subcontractor had punched another worker in the face, knocking him to the ground. A deputy interviewed the victim at Blake Medical Center, where he observed cuts and swelling on the victim’s face. MCSO was conducting an investigation into the whereabouts of the suspect.

Holmes Beach
May 9, 400 block of Clark Drive, criminal mischief. After spending $4,000 to repair and paint a Toyota Sequoia front fender, the owner discovered it kicked in and dented. A tennis shoe print was found on the fender.
May 9-14, 3200 E. Bay Drive, Walgreens, theft. A red backpack left outside the store, containing clothes and prescription drugs, was taken by a man who drove away in a silver Ford Ranger. The next day, two officers at the Kingfish Boat Ramp observed the Ranger traveling east on Manatee Avenue at a high rate of speed. They stopped the vehicle, asked the motorist about the backpack and he admitted taking it, according to the report. Several days later, another officer interviewed the suspect at work after reading his Miranda rights. Police requested a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.
May 9, 3900 E. Bay Drive, Publix, theft. A suspect, who pushed past an employee attempting to stop him at the door, took six steaks and two packages of shrimp from a meat cooler. With $190 of unpaid meat in his basket, the man left the store parking lot as a passenger in a white SUV. The vehicle fled onto Sixth Avenue toward Manatee Avenue. Police viewed a surveillance tape and obtained the suspect’s fingerprints.
May 10, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, domestic disturbance. A couple was arguing at the beach. Both told police there had been no violence and left.
May 10, 700 Key Royale Drive, Key Royale Club, theft. Surveillance cameras showed two males stealing yellow flags on the golf course. One male was driving a car and the other was removing the flags.
May 10, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, battery. A woman from New York was given a notice to appear in court for slapping another woman twice on the beach. The dispute arose after the victim observed the other woman hitting her child. The suspect told police she began to panic when she lost sight of one of her sons and had been yelling at him when the victim got in her face.
May 11, 7100 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A fishing pole valued at $150 was reported stolen May 9-May 10 from outside a condo.
May 15, 300 block of 59th Street, theft. The owner of a green beach cruiser reported the bike taken from his residence. It was valued at $50.
May 16, 3100 block of Avenue E, trespass. A neighbor reported a suspicious person on a bicycle entered an enclosed patio. Police arrived and found a 25-year-old Palm City man in the pool with a bottle of alcohol nearby. The suspect told police he “was trying to get out of the rain.” The owner arrived and confirmed the suspect did not belong on the property. He was arrested and transported to jail. He posted a $120 bond and was released pending an arraignment.
