November is now on the calendar for the trial of a man accused of a 2014 stabbing in Holmes Beach.
Andrew Helderman, 25, in Manatee County jail on $166,500 bond, is set to stand trial on counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and making and possessing or discharging a weapon.
At a May 13 court hearing, Helderman’s trial was postponed for the fifth time.
On the motion of Helderman’s new attorney, Harland L. Milhorn II, the judge moved the case to the week of Nov. 10 for a docket sounding and a two-week trial period beginning Nov. 30.
Helderman was arrested March 14, 2014, after a Holmes Beach police officer allegedly found him standing in a bloody bathtub over a female roommate with a knife protruding from her neck. Helderman allegedly assaulted a male roommate who tried to rescue the woman.
Helderman also has been charged in a misdemeanor case for assaulting a jail guard. That case was set for docket sounding May 18. Also scheduled is a June trial before Judge Douglas K. Henderson.
Helderman’s court hearings will be heard at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
