May 20, City pier parking lot, 100 S. Bay Blvd., hit and run. A traffic crash and vehicle that left the scene was reported.
May 20, intersection of Gulf Drive and Magnolia Avenue, traffic. An accident with property damage was reported.
May 21, 300 block of Gulf Drive, found property. A surfboard that washed up on the beach was turned over to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office for safekeeping.
May 22, 8700 block of Gulf Drive, license. A deputy observed, stopped and cited a motorist for driving on a suspended license/habitual offender and failure to register the vehicle. The deputy seized the tag and arrested the driver.
May 30, 800 block of North Shore Drive, domestic battery. An aggressor confronted a family member, causing the victim to swear at the aggressor. The victim was slapped and left the residence to make a report at the Holmes Beach Police Department. The aggressor was arrested and transported to jail.

Bradenton Beach
May 29, Sports Lounge, 118 Bridge St., disorderly intoxication. A 25-year-old man was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance. A Bradenton Beach police officer found brass knuckles and a marijuana pipe in the man’s possession. He was transported to Manatee County jail.
June 1, 200 block of Bridge Street, battery. A 45-year-old man allegedly asked another man to fight. The aggressor bit the victim’s nose and poked him in the eye. Officers found the suspect nearby, arrested him and transported him to Manatee County jail.
June 2, 100 block of Second Street North, obstructing an officer. After being dispatched to a trolley stop on Gulf Drive, police found a 24-year-old man holding a brown paper bag containing a beer. The man allegedly told police he was doing something illegal, wanted to go to jail and then started chugging the beer. An officer grabbed the suspect’s arm and the man began to fight. Police used pepper spray and arrested him. He was transported to Manatee County jail.

Cortez
May 29, 4500 block of 102nd Street West, domestic disturbance. Living on different floors of the same residence, a divorced couple argued over bags of clothes left at the bottom of the stairs, which prevented the woman from leaving. An MCSO deputy responded and determined no physical violence had occurred.
Cortez is policed by the MCSO.
Holmes Beach
May 23, 200 block of 66th Street, battery. A bicyclist reported he was spit on by a relative in a passing car. Holmes Beach Police Department requested a warrant.
May 23, 600 block of Manatee Avenue, traffic. An officer determined a motorist’s license was expired after he was stopped for running a red light. He was issued a summons to appear in court.
May 23, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, traffic. After an officer stopped a motorist in a vehicle because the trunk was open, he asked the driver for his license and proof of insurance. The motorist first responded they were in the trunk, but revised his story to having no license. He was issued a notice to appear in court.
May 25, 4000 Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, domestic battery. A man took his three children, ages 1, 4 and 5, from their mother by force and left the beach in a white Grand Marquis. HBPD arrived and alerted area police about the suspect and vehicle. A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped the vehicle in the 9900 block of Manatee Avenue. There, the woman was reunited with her children and HBPD arrested the man for battery. He was transported to jail.
May 27, Resort 66, 6600 Gulf Drive, vehicle theft. An officer responded to a call about a missing tag on a rental vehicle. Both the screw and tag were gone. The rental company agreed to send a replacement car. No suspects have been identified.
