Repairs to a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado led to the arrest of a Cortez man.
Saher Kader, 52, was arrested by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of grand theft for keeping a truck after he performed repairs.
According to the complaint for the warrant arrest, the victims authorized Kader to perform repairs and paid for them. It was reported he’d been observed driving the truck around town.
When Kader inquired about buying the vehicle, he was allegedly told no.
The MCSO complaint also stated Kader insisted he purchased the vehicle but did not produce paperwork to support his claim.
Kader was booked at the Manatee County jail and posted a $1,500 bond.
His court arraignment is set for July 24 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
