Ready, set, go!
It’s back to school time in Manatee County.
Anna Maria Elementary School is kicking off the 2015-16 school year with a back-to-school night for parents and students.
Festivities will take place 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the school, 4700 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach. During the event, students and parents will greet teachers and administrators and mingle with other families.
Parents also will be able to pick up pre-ordered school supply kits at back-to-school night. Supplies will not be offered for sale at the school. Supply kit orders were made online and ended in July.
Students will meet their teacher and tour classrooms and they can drop off their supplies to be ready for the first day of school.
“Not only am I excited, but my teachers are also excited for the new year,” principal Jackie Featherston said. “They love teaching and working with the children and families at our school. We look forward to a great school year ahead.”
Student class lists will not be posted online for the 2015-16 school year, but parents can learn student assignments during back-to-school night or by contacting the school at 941-708-5525.
The first day of school for students is Monday, Aug. 24.
