Aug. 14, 70 block of North Shore Drive. A person entered an unlocked rental home and stole property, including computer equipment, a purse and skateboard.
Aug. 16, 800 block of North Shore Drive. Two persons in distress were rescued from the water. A boater brought them ashore, where emergency responders arrived to assist.

Bradenton Beach
Aug. 19, 50 block of Bay Drive North, burglary and firearm theft. A Smith & Wesson Bodyguard pistol was reported missing after a burglary sometime between Aug. 1 and Aug. 19. The handgun was valued at $575. Police registered the handgun theft with a national law enforcement database.
Aug. 20, 100 block of Gulf Drive, South, theft. At 8 p.m., a visitor from Washington state took a dip in the Gulf of Mexico. About 20 minutes later, on returning to where he left his shoes and wallet, he discovered his wallet, containing $2,200, credit cards and military and firefighter identification cards were missing.

Cortez
Aug. 10, 12400 block of 45th Avenue West, warrant. An MCSO deputy arrested a 47-year-old woman on a warrant for violating a supervised release order. She was transported to Manatee County jail.

Holmes Beach
Aug. 8, theft. A newspaper carrier reported to the Holmes Beach Police Department that 16 Bradenton Herald newspapers were stolen from the 500 block of 58th Street, 300 block of 67th, 400 blocks of 72nd, 74th, 75th, 76th and 77th streets and along Holmes Boulevard.
Aug. 8, 600 Manatee Drive, license. A 28-year-old documented gang member from Wimauma was pulled over for a traffic stop after a random tag inquiry. The HBPD officer determined the motorist was driving on a license that was suspended for driving under the influence. A citation and a court date were issued.
Aug. 9, 1500 block of Gulf Drive, warrant and resisting arrest. A Holmes Beach police officer was assisting BBPD on a call about a man and a woman leaving Gulf Drive Cafe without paying a bar tab when the man fled. The HBPD officer apprehended the suspect in Bradenton Beach after he chased him over a ditch full of water, through a garage and down an alley where the officer threatened to taze him. The 25-year-old man from Phoenix, allegedly told police he was impressed the officer was able to catch him. He was arrested and booked at the Manatee County jail on a Polk County warrant for domestic violence and resisting arrest. The man posted a $500 bond and was released.
Aug. 12, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, vehicle burglary. A car door was pried open to gain entry to a vehicle’s trunk. Credit cards and $40 were taken from a purse in the trunk. The suspect used the credit cards at six locations.
