Aug. 30, 12100 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A bicycle was reported missing.

Bradenton Beach
Sept. 7, 200 block of Bay Drive North, domestic battery. Bradenton Beach Police Department was dispatched to a call about a woman who’d escaped from a beating. A man she’d lived with had allegedly come home after drinking and grabbed her hair, slapped her face and knocked her around. The woman reported the man cut himself with a paring knife and flicked his blood on her, the floor and furniture. When a neighbor came to the door, the woman escaped and called 911. The man was later arrested in Holmes Beach and booked and released from the Manatee County jail.
Sept. 10, 200 Bridge St., anchorage, theft and disorderly intoxication. A West Palm woman was arrested after boarding another person’s boat and taking a dog and two cats. The woman rowed the victim’s boat to the dinghy dock and confronted the victim about leaving the animals unattended on the boat. Appearing intoxicated, she became belligerent with a BBPD officer and she was arrested. She was booked at the Manatee County jail. After her first court appearance, she was released on her own recognizance.

Cortez
Aug. 30, 11900 block of Cortez Road, grand theft. Bikes locked and chained to a motor home were reported stolen. The victim found the chain cut.

Holmes Beach
Aug. 30, 300 block of 56th Street, burglary. A residence was broken into and three flat-screen televisions valued at $1,350 were stolen. HBPD responded and took fingerprints.
Aug. 30, 100 block of 33rd Street, vehicle burglary. A briefcase, purse, wallet and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle left at the beach access for about a half-hour. The victim told police his stolen credit cards had been used at Bradenton retailers and a person in Bradenton called and reported finding his briefcase in the trash.
Sept. 3, 100 block of 51st Street, theft. A silver beach cruiser bicycle valued at $250 was stolen from an outdoor patio. Police found the bicycle four blocks away under a carport at a residence where the owner was out of town.
Sept. 4, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, theft. A man flagged down an HBPD officer and reported his cellphone, wallet and $180 stolen. He told police he’d been hanging out with a girl who left with “his stuff” when he went for a swim. HBPD checked with BBPD and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, but failed to locate the woman.
Holmes Beach is policed by the HBPD.
