Sept. 4, 100 block of Tern Drive, noise. The music stopped after Manatee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a noise complaint at 1 a.m. The deputy reported conversation-level voices and seeing people on the back porch near the pool. He informed an occupant about Anna Maria noise laws and issued a warning.
Sept. 5, 700 block of Jacaranda Road and 400 block of Rose Street. People on a pool deck at about 3 a.m. were issued a warning to stop making noise.
Sept. 9, 9000 block of Gulf Drive, information. A man lost control of his scooter, fell and sustained minor injuries. Emergency service personnel responded and found him low on blood sugar. The man declined transport to the hospital. A deputy followed the man home to make sure he made it OK.
Sept. 11, 10005 block of Gulf Drive, suspicious incident. Two adult males and one juvenile approached a sheriff’s deputy and told him they’d been abandoned by friends. One male was riding a bicycle that didn’t belong to him. The bicycle owner could not be located. A robbery was alleged and then recanted.
Sept. 11, 300 block of Poinsettia Road, noise. Six people in the pool area were warned at 8 p.m. about the 10 p.m. quiet time.
Sept. 17, 8700 block of Gulf Drive, identity theft. An unknown person obtained a social security number and used it without the owner’s consent.

Bradenton Beach
Sept. 11, Joe’s Sweets & Eats, 219 Gulf Drive S., criminal mischief and battery. Bradenton Beach Police Department was alerted to a parking lot disturbance after a tow truck was called to remove a vehicle. The restaurant owner was taking a cellphone video of the tow when the vehicle’s owner, a 29-year-old Bradenton man, returned. The man became enraged and kicked the cellphone from the restaurant owner’s hands, breaking the phone. After the police arrived, the two men agreed the Bradenton man would pay for the broken phone. The restaurant owner agreed not to press charges unless the man didn’t hold up his end of their deal. Two weeks later the restaurant owner told police he didn’t receive payment and wanted to press charges. BBPD sent a request for the man’s arrest to the state attorney’s office.
Sept. 23, 1900 block of Gulf Drive North, theft. An iPod was stolen from a Jeep’s center console overnight. The vehicle doors were locked, but the canvas top on the back of the Jeep was down.
Sept. 24, 500 Gulf Drive North, trespass. A 48-year-old homeless man was issued a trespass warning after found sleeping on the beach. A BBPD officer directed him to leave as no camping is allowed on the beach. The man picked up his belongings from the 300 block of the beach and left.

Cortez
Sept. 11, 3700 block of 116th Street West, information. A man came home from work to find he was locked out of his mobile home. A sheriff’s deputy responded but the person inside would not come out. MCSO told the man he could use whatever means he needed to gain entry. The man picked up a rock and broke the window on the front door.
Sept. 14, 4400 block of 123rd Street West, Baker Act. A female family member entered a man’s residence to help connect his telephone and noticed the power was off. The woman called the MCSO and told a deputy the man grabbed her and acted irrational. The deputy took the man into protective custody.
Sept. 17, Manatee Fruit Company, 11703 40th Ave. W., theft. Flowers were reported stolen from the nursery.
Sept. 19, 3800 block of 117th Street, battery. At about 9 p.m., a woman went outside to check out a noise and found a neighbor, wearing only his underwear, in her backyard. The 53-year-old man allegedly used profanities, shook his hands in her face and shoved her. MCSO arrested him and transported him to jail. He was released after posting $500 bond.
Sept. 20, Manatee Fruit Company, 11703 40th Ave. W., burglary. An unknown person entered the greenhouse office, filled a mug with water, placed a company phone in the water and fled.

Holmes Beach
Sept. 14, 7800 block of Marina Drive, theft. A Holmes Beach police officer was flagged down by a complainant who reported plastic signs belonging to Oneco Concrete & Asphalt and Woodruff & Sons were stolen Sept. 12-14 from job sites between 78th and 85th streets.
