An Ellenton man was found with three bags of marijuana and a handgun after a traffic stop in the 700 block of Manatee Avenue in Holmes Beach.
The Holmes Beach Police Department arrested Lazandious M. Randall, 20, after pulling over the vehicle he was driving at 8:35 p.m. Aug. 26.
HBPD determined Randall had no driver’s license and noticed an “overwhelming odor of marijuana,” according to an HBPD incident report.
Randall allegedly told police there was nothing illegal in the car and did not consent to a search.
The report states that because of the odor, the officer instructed Randall to exit the car. The officer saw a marijuana cigarette and a green leafy substance inside the vehicle and arrested him.
HBPD next searched the vehicle and found 102.6 grams of marijuana, a loaded 40-caliber Glock 27 handgun in the glove compartment and an extra round of ammunition in the back seat, according to the report. No charge was filed against Randall relating to the gun possession.
Randall was booked at the Manatee County jail, posted a $1,500 bond and was released.
His arraignment is set for Sept. 25 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
