A motorist who rear-ended a vehicle at Gulf and Marina drives in Holmes Beach in April pleaded no contest and was sentenced to the 12th Judicial Circuit Court’s DUI counter-attack program.
Judge Charles Sniffen found Scott M. Watson of Sarasota guilty of driving under the influence in August and ordered a12-month probation, including completion of victim-impact panel and DUI school, evaluation and treatment, if necessary.
The judge also suspended Watson’s driver’s license for six months and impounded his vehicle for 10 days.
A Sept. 22 court order clarified the judge’s findings to reflect an amended DUI charge, without the aggravating factor of a breath test measuring 0.15 or higher.
Watson also is required to pay $1,456 in state and court costs, plus $50 for the cost of prosecution and $100 for the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office investigation.
