A 54-year-old Holmes Beach man was arrested for entering and damaging a former girlfriend’s Bradenton residence.
John Michael Ellsworth Jr. was arrested Oct. 19 by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a Sept. 21 burglary.
The Bradenton Police Department responded to a disturbance call regarding Ellsworth banging on the door in the 2700 block of 60th Street West, according to a BPD report.
Earlier, Ellsworth allegedly had broken into the ex-girlfriend’s home and met her and another man while inside the home at the door as they were entering the Bradenton residence.
The former girlfriend asked Ellsworth to leave, but he refused and became verbally abusive, according to the police report.
The two men allegedly fought before Ellsworth left in a taxi.
After the September incident, the Holmes Beach Police Department went to Ellsworth’s home where he refused to step outside, which resulted in an arrest warrant request from the BPD.
The warrant was served in October and Ellsworth was taken to Manatee County jail.
He posted $15,000 bail and was released.
Ellsworth’s arraignment is set for Nov. 11 in the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
