A couple was arrested for criminal mischief Jan. 20 thanks to a tip from Mayor Bill Shearon to the Bradenton Beach Police Department about vandals on Bridge Street.
Matthew G. Ebersberger, 29, and Brittany M. Heinen, 23, were arrested at 7:25 p.m. Jan. 20 for criminal mischief after police allegedly observed them pulling down caution tape at 135 Bridge St. and stepping in the freshly poured cement on a sidewalk and curb.
Heinen also was charged with resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.
She allegedly yelled at Officer John Tsakiri, grabbed Ebersberger and pushed Tsakiri in the chest. Tsakiri then asked a bystander to remove Heinen while he placed the boyfriend in the patrol car.
Both suspects were booked and transported to Manatee County jail.
BBPD also arrested Heinen Jan. 15 at the Bridge Street anchorage on a warrant for violating probation for a conviction on a charge of driving while under the influence.
She was assigned a $6,620 bond for the Jan. 20 arrest.
A bond of $1,620 was set for Ebersberger.
Their arraignment on the criminal mischief charges is set for Feb. 19 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
