Jan. 31, Slim’s Place, 9701 Gulf Drive, fraud. A homeless 61-year-old man was arrested for defrauding an innkeeper after ordering a pizza, eating it and leaving without paying. When the server confronted the man outside about the unpaid $15 check, the man advised he didn’t feel well and had called an ambulance. An emergency medical worker who checked the man and found no illness told the server the man has a history of walking out on restaurant bills and calling for an ambulance. The server gave the man a chance to pay but he had no funds. A Manatee County Sheriff’s deputy arrested the man and transported him to the Manatee County jail.

Bradenton Beach
Feb. 1, 200 Bridge St., boat anchorage, battery/lascivious act. The Bradenton Beach Police Department is requesting a warrant for the arrest of a 30-year-old man who allegedly grabbed and touched a man inappropriately and burned his leg. The victim and suspect were with several friends on a boat, according to witness statements.
Feb. 2, 1100 block of Bay Drive, theft. A visitor from Michigan reported the theft of $200 from her purse the day after allowing a service technician into the residence.

Cortez
Jan. 29, 4400 block of 124th Street, burglary. An unknown person or persons broke a window, entered a home and stole several items. MCSO processed the scene for fingerprints.
Jan. 30, 4500 block of 125th Street West, information. A 32.5-foot boat became unanchored and beached on private property. An apparently intoxicated boat owner told a deputy another man had re-anchored his boat offshore.
Feb. 1, 4900 block of 123rd Street West, warrant. A warrant for stalking was served on a 26-year-old man.

Holmes Beach
Jan. 25, Publix, 3900 E. Bay Drive, theft. Frozen shrimp and steaks were stolen by a suspect who left traveling east in a Ford Expedition. Video of the incident was given to Holmes Beach Police Department.
Jan. 19-24, 6200 block of Holmes Boulevard. Two homes in the same condominium complex were burglarized by a suspect who left muddy boot prints. In one incident, where windows were broken and a door was found unlocked, three flat screen TVs valued at $1,600 were taken. In the other burglary, while there were no signs of forced entry, four TVs and a blueray player valued at $1,700 had been stolen. HBPD took photographs of the boot prints, interviewed neighbors and are looking into a possible suspect.
