Island police blotter – 02-24-2016

Anna Maria

        Feb.  9, 100 block of Willow Avenue, domestic disturbance. A Manatee County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of a couple engaged in a verbal dispute. No sign of violence was reported or observed.

Feb. 12, 200 block of Chilson Avenue, burglary. Unknown persons entered a residence and stole three bicycles and a TV valued at $1,500.

Feb. 12, Galati Marine, 900 S. Bay Blvd, theft. The dockmaster reported a stolen bicycle and gas grill valued at $370. The grill was subsequently found.

Bradenton Beach

Feb. 16, 100 block of Gulf Drive South, warrant. A 29-year-old man wanted on a warrant from Pinellas County was arrested following a traffic stop for a cracked window.

Bradenton Beach is policed by the Bradenton Beach Police Department.

Cortez

Feb. 13, 4400 block of 123rd Street Court West, motor vehicle theft. A missing vehicle was reported to the MCSO. After a police investigation, the vehicle was returned. A tow company had the wrong address when it mistakenly took the vehicle.

Cortez is policed by the MCSO.

Holmes Beach

Feb. 10, Publix Super Market, 3900 E. Bay Drive, theft. A 58-year-old Holmes Beach woman was arrested for shoplifting. Caught on video, the woman loaded up a shopping cart with $96.34 of groceries and walked out without paying. HBPD responded to the store and police learned the woman had cashed a check before loading the cart. Police went to the address on the check and found the cart in the front yard and the woman indoors. She told police she was taking medication that makes her forget things.

Holmes Beach is policed by the HBPD.
