March 10, 500 block of Spring Avenue, fraud. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a New York state trooper about a scam involving $3,600.04 in MoneyGrams sent to the property. The trooper warned the MCSO there could be an ongoing Craigslist problem at the address.
March 12, North Bay Boulevard and Poinsettia Road, disturbance. While patrolling, an MCSO officer came upon people arguing. There was no sign of a physical altercation.

Bradenton Beach
March 7, Bradenton Beach Marina, 402 Church Ave., disturbance. Bradenton Beach Police officers responded to a call about a man on a boat becoming aggressive with a security guard. When police arrived, the security guard led police to the man, who appeared intoxicated. Police determined the man to be the aggressor, but no battery had occurred. Blood appeared on the man’s hand, so emergency medical services were called and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police described the injury as looking like a scab had been removed, but the man claimed police brutality and refused to give the officers his identification. Checking with the U.S. Coast Guard, police were unable to determine ownership of the boat.
March 11, Coquina Park, 1800 Gulf Drive, disorderly intoxication. Manatee County Marine Rescue contacted the BBPD about a man who drove into a pole. When police arrived, the officers asked if someone could be called to help the man get home due to his intoxication. The man began yelling and cursing and lunged at an officer. He was arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail.
March 12, Via Roma, 2408 Gulf Drive N., theft. A visitor from Tennessee reported placing an envelope with $700 in a nightstand drawer March 7 and finding it missing as he packed up to leave.
March 13, Silver Surf, 1301 Gulf Drive N., theft. A Winterhaven woman who stayed at the resort in February reported her diamond jewelry missing. She valued the missing diamond rings and a pair of earrings at $11,515. Police report she was unable to recall where at the resort she’d left the jewelry.

Cortez
March 6, 4400 block of 124th Street West, battery. An argument became physical between two acquaintances when a male aggressor grabbed a woman by the arm and punched her, causing her to fall. The aggressor fled in an unknown direction. After deputies arrived, the woman was transported to Blake Medical Center with a severe headache.

Holmes Beach
March 5, Citgo Gas, 3105 Gulf Drive, disorderly conduct/trespass. Holmes Beach police responded to a call from the convenience store clerk about a man who became angry when he was told the store microwave was not working. He yelled at the clerk and at passersby. When police arrived, the man was drinking alcohol on the front porch of Mike Norman Realty, 3101 Gulf Drive. Police determined the man had been trespassed from the location and arrested him for trespass and disorderly conduct. While being transported to jail, the man spit and became combative.
March 11, 600 block of Manatee Avenue, marijuana possession. HBPD arrested a 21-year-old Lakeland man for misdemeanor possession of marijuana after clocking his vehicle at 41 mph in a 25-mph zone in the 5200 block of Gulf Drive. Stopping him on Manatee Avenue, an officer found a small amount of the drug near the driver’s door and a bag containing 16.3 grams of marijuana wedged in the front seat. He was transported to Manatee County jail and released on a $500 bond.
