May 19, 500 block of Pine Avenue, suspicious incident. A resident reported finding his door open at 4:40 a.m., but nothing was missing.
May 20, 100 block of Tern Drive. Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported locating a large amount of stolen goods, including two bicycles. A suspect was identified.

Bradenton Beach
May 18, 403 Highland Ave., grand theft of a firearm. A man in the process of moving to Montana came to the Bradenton Beach Police Department and reported a gun stolen two weeks earlier. He said an acquaintance and his girlfriend helped him move and he later noticed the gun missing.
May 19, 200 block of Gulf Drive, aggravated battery. An officer responded to a report of domestic battery and a vehicle crash, where he found an unattended motorcycle parked in the northbound lane of Gulf Drive. Witnesses reported a man jumped off the motorcycle and ran up to a car and punched a woman in the car in the face. She drove away with him attached to the vehicle. They were later reported in the 100 block of Sixth Street. The woman was found, but police were unable to locate the male, who she identified as her boyfriend. A witness gave a written statement and furnished police with cellphone video of the incident.
May 21, 100 block of Gulf Drive South, alcohol violation. During a joint investigation with BBPD and the state division of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, an underage operative was sent to purchase alcohol at a convenience store. The clerk did not ID the operative and was cited for sale of alcohol to an underage person.

Holmes Beach
May 14, 100 block of 74th Street, burglary. A man reported an air conditioner removed and entry made to the residence. When a second homeowner arrived, the man’s mother identified the suspect, who she said had previously come to the door requesting water, from a Facebook photograph. A capias request was completed for the suspect.
May 15, 4500 block of Second Avenue, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia. A woman was stopped for an alleged illegal left turn onto 43rd Avenue from Gulf Drive. An officer detected the odor of marijuana. The driver allegedly admitted having marijuana and turned over a small red bag with 8.9 grams and a pipe. A search of the vehicle turned up another pipe. She was issued a notice to appear for possession of less than 20 grams and paraphernalia.
May 17, 3400 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A man reported his 15-speed Trek bicycle stolen from the driveway of a condo, where he found another bicycle in its place.
May 17, 100 block of 73rd Street, theft/larceny. A woman said she left her bicycle unlocked and parked at the beach access on 73rd street at 10:30 p.m. When she returned, the bike was missing.
May 17, 4100 block of Sixth Avenue, criminal mischief. A homeowner reported someone defecated on his patio and destroyed some pool gear. A citronella candle was left burning in the backyard.
May 19, 5600 block of Holmes Boulevard, larceny/theft. A rented tandem bicycle was removed from a house between 11:30 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. and a red Fuji bike was left behind. The red bike was processed for prints and the serial number obtained for the tandem. The victim reported seeing a young man riding the tandem south on Holmes Boulevard with another juvenile on a separate bicycle. The stolen tandem then was reported behind Hurricane Hanks, 5346 Gulf Drive. A juvenile was detained and the serial number was confirmed a match. He was read his Miranda rights.
200 block of 72nd Street, criminal mischief. A woman reported her mailbox damaged overnight.
May 20, 4300 block of Gulf Drive, Cayman Cay. Two unlocked bicycles were removed from a residence overnight.
May 23, Holmes Boulevard at 70th Street, grand theft. An officer spotted two juveniles suspected of stealing bicycles on bikes and, when he turned around to stop them, they fled. One was caught, placed under arrest and transported to the Manatee Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The other suspect was arrested at his Anna Maria home and transported to MRJDC.
