Aug. 24, 600 block of Gladiolus Street, theft. A man reported the theft of cash and credit cards.

Bradenton Beach
Aug. 25, Sports Lounge, 118 Bridge St., battery. Bradenton Beach police responded to a battery with injuries at 1:30 a.m. and found a 31-year-old man lying in front of the bar with his face bleeding with a bump and cut on the back of his head. A witness told police a fight broke out in the bar when a woman pulled a knife on bar patrons. The fight ended outside where the injured man fell. The aggressors left the scene. Police retrieved a knife with a 6-inch blade from the bartender. EMS arrived and took the injured, intoxicated man to Blake Medical Center.
Aug. 28, Club Bamboo South, 2412 Gulf Drive N., criminal mischief. Five plastic lawn chairs and two lounge chairs were taken from the pool area, damaged and left on the shore of the Gulf of Mexico.

Holmes Beach
Aug. 20, 600 block of Manatee Avenue, fraud. A Holmes Beach police officer stopped a vehicle that ran a red light at the intersection of Manatee Avenue at East Bay Drive and determined the motorist had altered the temporary tag on his vehicle. He was ticketed for driving on a suspended license and unlawful use of a temporary tag.
Aug. 20, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, stolen tag. A man reported the theft of a New York license tag from a vehicle in a carport.
Aug. 20, 3900 block of East Bay Drive, ordinance violation. On patrol, a Holmes Beach police officer observed a 52-year-old man sleeping on a trolley bench at 2:45 a.m. The man was reported as homeless. He told the officer he came to the island to camp. The officer issued the man a violation for illegal camping.
Aug. 21, 3900 block of East Bay Drive, ordinance violation. A 29-year-old woman reported as homeless was issued a violation of the city’s no-camping ordinance by an officer, who observed her sleeping at 2:45 a.m. on a bench. The officer reported she was intoxicated and uncooperative.
Aug. 21, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, theft. A woman reported she and her family left a bag containing keys and clothes on the beach while they swam in the Gulf for a few minutes. They returned to find the bag gone. The woman later told police she’d found the bag in bushes nearby, but the keys and some of the clothing were missing.
Aug. 21, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, ordinance violation. While investigating a loud music complaint, police found a 22-year-old Davenport man with a bottle of Malibu rum. He was issued an alcohol citation.
Aug. 22, 3200 block of East Bay, ordinance violation. An HBPD officer on routine patrol observed a 46-year-old man sleeping on a bench at 2:45 a.m. The officer reported the man was intoxicated and cited him for violating the no-camping ordinance.
Aug. 24, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, obstruction, battery and trespass. Police responded to a report of two women fighting in the parking lot and found the alleged aggressor on a trolley. After refusing repeated police orders to exit the trolley, an officer took the woman by the arm and led her from the vehicle. The victim told police the woman hit her during an argument over paying for drinks. The aggressor was arrested and placed in the police vehicle. On the way to the Manatee County jail, she slipped out of the handcuffs and banged on the back of the vehicle. The officer stopped, re-handcuffed her and placed her legs in shackles. He booked her in the jail on battery and obstructing a police officer and issued her a trespass from the public beach.
