John Chappie and Bill Vincent are vying for the Ward 4 commission seat on the Bradenton Beach commission Nov. 8, and both have secured funding from multiple sources.
As of the Oct. 21 reporting deadline, Chappie received $4,315 in contributions from 16 sources, including four businesses — Bridgewalk Partners LLC, Island Time Lodge LLC, Pines Trailer Park and Silver Surf Gulf Beach Resort.
The only additional contribution Chappie reported since the Oct. 14 deadline was $500 from Island Time Lodge.
Chappie received contributions from two politicians — Manatee County Commissioner Carol Whitmore and prior County Commissioner Pat Glass — and 10 individuals, including hoteliers David Teitelbaum and Danny Canniff.
As of Oct. 21, Chappie’s campaign expenditures mostly included marketing expenses and totaled $3,440.70 — an increase of $324.32 from the Oct. 14 reporting deadline.
The expended funds were used for mailing expenses.
Alternately, Bill Vincent collected $7,079.43 in contributions from 54 sources, including one business — Bazzy Marine Corp. — and 53 individuals.
As of the Oct. 21 reporting deadline, Vincent’s contributions included a $500 donation from planning and zoning board member John Metz and $500 from his wife LeeAnne.
Tjet Martin, Bradenton Beach Scenic WAVES Partnership Committee chair, also donated $500 to support Vincent.
Since the Oct. 14 reporting deadline, Vincent’s funding increased by $1,610 through the support of seven individual contributors.
According to the Oct. 21 report, Vincent spent $3,049.16 to market his campaign, most of which was used for printing and mailing materials.
The candidate with the most votes will win.
The Bradenton Beach electorate will cast ballots Tuesday, Nov. 8, at precinct No. 307, Bradenton Beach Fire Hall, 201 Second St. N.
