A 25-year-old Bradenton man was sentenced to a 12-month probation for reckless driving in Holmes Beach — reduced from a charge of driving under the influence.
Joshua Drawdy pleaded no contest in July to the lesser charge, as well as a charge of possessing less than 20 grams of marijuana.
The state filed the DUI charge against Drawdy in April but amended it to reckless driving July 5.
On the driving charge, 12th Circuit Judge Charles Sniffen found Drawdy guilty, ordered the probation and suspended his driver’s license for six months. In August, the judge ordered a business exception to the suspension.
Sniffen withheld adjudication on the drug charge.
Police arrested Drawdy at 47th Street and Gulf Drive March 25 after stopping his vehicle for speeding, testing him for impaired driving and finding 10.9 grams of marijuana in his pocket and shoe, according to a HBPD report.
Drawdy’s probation requires him to complete a DUI course, a victim-impact panel and 60 hours of public service.
The judge also ordered Drawdy to pay $1,161 in costs and fines.
