Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Poindexter
Dorothy “Dottie” Poindexter of Bradenton, former Bradenton Beach public works director, died Dec. 9.
A funeral and visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, at Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. and the service will be at 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Manatee County Animal Services.
Doyle Wayne Swann
Doyle Wayne Swann, 79, of Cortez, died Dec 12. He was born Aug. 30, 1937, in Jefferson County, Tennessee, and moved to Cortez from Indianapolis in 1997.
He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast and member of the Moose Lodge of Anna Maria Island.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Cortez Club House, 12507 Cortez Road W., Cortez.
Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel in Bradenton is in charge or arrangements. Flowers will be accepted and donations may be made to the James P. Glidewell Jr. Scholarship Fund, 167 Waterview Lane, Albany KY 42602.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Patty; sons Brian and wife Sanjuana of Indianapolis and Tommy of Indianapolis; daughter Susan and husband Ken Perdue of Carmel, Indiana; step-daughters Jessica and husband Rob Payson of McCordsville, Indiana, and Sherry and husband Jim Glidewell, Albany, Kentucky; brother Keith of Pendleton, Indiana; seven grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
