Contractor begins demolition at Holmes Beach resort

The Layby Resort, 105 White Ave., Holmes Beach, was partially demolished as of April 15, part of a renovation and addition permit. Nashville-based Coasting LLC, a firm representing country musicians Garth Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood, purchased the property in 2019 for $8.825 million. The firm hired Holmes Beach-based Shoreline Builders of Southwest Florida — operated by Steve Titsworth, the husband of Mayor Judy Titsworth — to begin the renovation earlier this month.
