FDLE honors former HB chief

Former Holmes Beach Police Chief Jay Romine speaks May 15 on being inducted into Florida’s Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame. Romine began his career in 1979 as an auxiliary police officer at the HBPD and climbed the ranks to chief in 1993. He retired in 2013, after also serving as president of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, and now serves as director of the Manatee Technical College Law Enforcement Academy. Romine was a 2020 inductee into the LEO Hall of Fame, but a ceremony wasn’t held last year due to the novel coronavirus. Screenshot: The Florida Channel
