Officer of the year

Holmes Beach Police Officer Michael VanHorn was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year May 20 by the Manatee County 100 Club for “exemplifying outstanding achievement, devotion to duty, dedication to service, genuine concern for our citizens and continuing contribution to our community,” an HBPD news release from Detective Sgt. Brian Hall stated. “If you see him, congratulate him on a job well done!” HBPD Chief Bill Tokajer commented on the recognition for VanHorn. “We are truly proud of Officer VanHorn and happy to see he is recognized by the community for his hard work and professionalism.” The Manatee County 100 Club is a civic group that supports law enforcement officers.
