Election Day didn’t pass in Holmes Beach without a little drama.
David Zaccagnino, a former city commissioner, filed a complaint Nov. 2 with the Holmes Beach Police Department alleging that City Commissioner Kim Rash urinated outdoors while at the city’s polling site at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 248 S. Harbor Drive.
An officer responded to the scene and spoke with Zaccagnino, who said he saw Rash urinate behind a dumpster and provided video showing the commissioner walking out from behind the dumpster.
Zaccagnino also provided photographs and reported finding a wet spot behind the dumpster after the incident that he believed was urine.
The officer spoke with Rash, who denied the allegation and claimed he had inspected a fence near the dumpster that he helped build years ago.
Rash joked with the officer and the people he was with at the polls and also told the officer “someone else” urinated behind the dumpster, but he refused to provide a name.
“Based on the videos and photos provided, I was unable to determine if a violation occurred,” the HBPD report states.
