Having a change of heart, the Grinch joined friends in the Christmas parade, taking the wheel of an LSV, tossing candy and beads to children.

Santa followed the procession with his sleigh to greet parade viewers. Santa, who told The Islander he was the real Santa, has been visiting Anna Maria Island for 25 years to hear gift requests from the island’s children.
The privateers ended their parade at the Anna Maria City Pier Park, opposite the city pier and Tampa Bay, to hear children’s wish lists and pose for photos.
Santa met with James Bristow, 3, and sister Windsor, 6, of West Palm to hear their Christmas wish list.

The pirate’s life for me.

The Anna Maria Island Privateers held their annual Christmas parade Dec. 11. The parade began in Coquina Beach, ran north through Holmes Beach and ended at the bayfront on Pine Avenue in Anna Maria. The privateer boat/float, Skullywag, led floats from sponsors and community organizations, with the arrival of Santa Claus in his Privateer sleigh at the very end.
