Holmes Beach family honors daughter with gift

Ron Kimble welcomes people Oct. 20 to a memorial dedication ceremony where he told the story of his late daughter, Jamie, who was killed by an ex-boyfriend.

A plaque at the 72nd Street beach access honors Jamie Kimble, a Holmes Beach resident who was killed by an ex-boyfriend in September 2012. It reads, in part, “This beachside oasis is dedicated to … a beautiful, kind and courageous woman.” Following her death, Kimble’s parents founded the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage in 2013 to support organizations and programs that work toward a future free of domestic violence.
