Connor Patrick Johnson
Connor Patrick Johnson, 22, of Gillett, Wisconsin, and formerly of Anna Maria, died Nov. 25.
He was born Jan. 6, 2001, to Matthew Johnson and Heather Whitaker in Manatee County. He attended Anna Maria Elementary, King Middle and Manatee High schools.
He moved to Wisconsin in 2022.
He was a devoted father to his daughter, Chloe. He loved spending time with her and planning their adventures.
He also enjoyed the outdoors and all it had to offer. He had developed a great appreciation for fishing and hunting and had a deep love for animals, including his pet chickens and cat.
He also was a true “car guy,” who loved buying, fixing and selling cars and racing at the local drag strip.
Memorial gatherings were held Dec. 2 in Wisconsin and Dec. 16 at the Anna Maria General Store, Anna Maria. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring, Wisconsin, was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.
Mr. Johnson is survived by Chloe; her mother, Tia Klein; father Matthew and significant other Molly; mother Heather; brother Cody and significant other Hannah; half-siblings Kylie, Layla, Summer and Mason; grandparents Alan and wife Sue and Theresa Musco; great-grandmother Dorothy Johnson; aunts and uncles Lisa and husband Michael Cronan, Monica and husband James Quinn, Angela and Jerome Musco and many other relatives and friends.

John Kenney, 69, died Dec. 9.
He was born in 1954 in Brooklyn, New York.
His professional journey led him to serve the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, where he fearlessly pursued justice for more than three decades and reached the rank of sergeant and served as a homicide detective.
He also led the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force for more than 10 years and received a meritorious award from the FBI director for bravery and courage. He received a lifetime award from the ATF and numerous accolades from MCSO, including deputy of the year in 1989.
He was involved in the 2008 investigation of the high-profile murder case of islander Sabine Musil-Buehler that resulted in a confession from the killer in 2015.
A memorial Mass was to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Dec. 18, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton. A viewing was Dec. 17 at Brown and Son’s Funeral Home, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. Memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a cause close to his heart.
Mr. Kenney is survived by his beloved wife, Kelly Davis; twin sons Joseph and Jeffrey and their wives, Joanne and Christina; stepchildren Troy Davis and Caleb Mutch; grandchildren Kyra, Karter, Avery, Kayson and Kayden; sister Kathy; and brothers Terry, Neil and James.
