Holmes Beach resident Stephanie Schmitt, 47, is on probation for another few months following 12th Circuit Judge Lon Arend’s ruling Jan. 26, 2023.
Schmitt, arrested in August 2022 in Holmes Beach, was involved in a domestic incident in which her husband claimed she had become aggressive.
Police arrested Schmitt on a second-degree misdemeanor charge for domestic assault.
Schmitt also was charged with three third-degree felonies for possession of marijuana, an Alprazolam pill and tablets of Carisoprodol.
The state attorney’s office dropped the domestic assault charge but filed charges for the three third-degree felonies.
Schmitt pleaded no contest to the felony charges.
Arend ruled in January 2023 to withhold adjudication of guilt — when a judge orders sanctions but does not issue a formal conviction — for the charges against Schmitt.
He ruled for Schmitt to complete 18 months of probation and 50 hours of public service work.
