Feb. 28, 11000 block of Gulf Drive, burglary. A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy responded to a call concerning the theft of tools from a construction site. A caller said the house they were working in was broken into and burglarized. An incident report was filed.

Feb. 25, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, Baker Act. A Holmes Beach police officer responded to reports of a disorderly intoxicated man. The officer located the man, who had an open beer. The officer removed the man from the beach and issued a trespass warning. The officer later found the man walking in traffic and attempting to enter multiple vehicles. The officer placed the man in police custody under the Baker Act and transported him to HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton.
Feb. 25, Dollar Tree, 3260 E. Bay Drive, marijuana. An officer responded to assist Manatee County Emergency Medical Services with an intoxicated man who requested transportation to Centerstone Behavioral Hospital in Bradenton. The officer found the man, who said he was having trouble breathing. EMS treated the man and found a container of marijuana. The man did not have a medical marijuana license. An officer issued a court summons for marijuana possession and transported him to Centerstone.
Feb. 28, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, assisting EMS. An officer found a man sleeping in a wooded area near the parking lot around 1 a.m. The officer woke the man and informed him that he was in the park after closing hours. The man said he did not feel well and requested EMS. Before EMS transported the man to HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, the officer searched the man’s possessions and found multiple prescription medications belonging to other people, which he seized and placed in storage.
Feb. 28, Sunbow Bay condos, 3805 E. Bay Drive, criminal mischief/marijuana. While investigating reports of a disturbance, police arrested a woman for damage to property and possession of drugs without a prescription, as well as issued a capias request for potential charges against a man due to the woman’s allegation of domestic battery.
