March 13, 100 block of Los Cedros Drive, animal attack. A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy responded to a call concerning an animal bite. County emergency medical services also responded. An incident report was filed.

Bradenton Beach
March 6, 103 Gulf Drive S., Circle K, trespassing. A Bradenton Beach police officer responded to a call concerning a person who was trespassing at the store. A Circle K employee said a man entered the establishment and asked for the cashier’s socks. The cashier asked the officer to trespass the individual. An incident report was filed.

Holmes Beach
March 12, 5400 block of Marina Drive, marijuana. A Holmes Beach police officer conducted a traffic stop and, when speaking with the driver, smelled marijuana. The man said he had marijuana but no prescription. The officer found a bag containing marijuana, as well as a rolled blunt. The officer issued a court summons for marijuana possession and a citation.
March 16, 7800 block of Palm Drive, .02 violation. An officer clocked a motorist driving 44 mph in a 25-mph zone and conducted a traffic stop. The officer spoke with the driver, who appeared intoxicated. Another officer arrived and deployed a portable breath test, which showed the driver had a 0.176 breath alcohol content. The officer issued the man citations, seized his license and had his vehicle towed. Another driver responded to take the man home.
March 17, 200 block of 85th Street, possible fraud/suspicious incident. A man reported a Federal Emergency Management Agency claim had been paid out to another person on his home, which had been affected by Hurricane Helene. The man said his roommate filed a claim and may have received the money. He added that he contacted FEMA and was working with an investigator.
March 18, 3100 block of Avenue F, criminal mischief/vandalism. An officer responded to reports of possible vandalism. A brick had been thrown through a driver’s side window of a vehicle. The window was shattered and the brick was found in the driver’s seat. Nothing had been taken from the vehicle.
March 18, 200 block of 54th Street, fraud. A woman reported an internet rental scam. She said she booked a rental through a website and paid $1,000 through the Zelle app to an email address, as well as wired $7,456 through her bank. When they arrived at the address, the property was occupied by people who booked the rental through other channels. She contacted Zelle and her bank to notify them of the fraudulent payments.
