Holmes Beach

June 10, 1500 block of Gulf Drive North, marijuana. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Holmes Beach Police Department about a motorist a deputy had been following after witnessing multiple driving infractions. A Holmes Beach police officer located the motorist and conducted a traffic stop. The officer smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle and the driver, who did not have a medical marijuana license, said there was a small amount in the center console. The officer searched and found 4.9 grams of marijuana, which was confiscated. The officer issued citations to the driver.

June 13, Edibles N More, 5368 Gulf Drive, marijuana. An officer found two people sleeping in a vehicle in a parking lot around 1:35 a.m. The officer woke the passengers and smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle. During a search, police found 3.5 grams of marijuana in a purse. A court summons and a citation were issued.

June 15, 500 block of 58th Street, domestic disturbance. An officer responded to reports of an incident involving a married couple. The complainant said he caught his wife taking his wallet, which resulted in a scuffle that ended with him pushing her. The officer searched for and attempted to contact the wife to no avail. No charges were filed.
