A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy arrested Cody Manning, 33, of Port Richey, Nov. 9 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, a second-degree misdemeanor.
Manning also was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for refusing to submit to DUI testing, as well as second-degree misdemeanors for failing to register his motor vehicle and driving without a valid license.
Two Holmes Beach police officers were dispatched around 8:27 a.m. in response to a motorcycle crash involving an impaired driver.
The man was detained and arrested in the 5700 block of Marina Drive and a sheriff’s deputy transported him to the Manatee County jail, where he refused to provide breath samples.
He remained in custody with a $950 bond as of Nov. 13.
If convicted, punishment for a first-degree misdemeanor includes up to one year in jail, one year of probation and a fine of up to $1,000.
Punishment for a second-degree misdemeanor includes up to 60 days in jail, six months of probation and a fine of up to $500.
An arraignment will be Dec. 18 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
