Most government offices will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day, a federal holiday.
Schools and libraries also will be closed but local parks and preserves will be open.
Manatee County Area Transit will not operate its handy bus service and most fixed routes, but the island trolley will operate.
There were no posted changes to trash collection.
On Anna Maria Island, the city of Anna Maria will hold the Old Soldiers and Sailors Parade at 11 a.m. on Pine Avenue, with a ceremony to follow at City Pier Park at Pine Avenue and Bay Boulevard.
Off the island, the Manatee County Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade will be at 11:30 a.m. in Palmetto. The parade will begin at the county fairgrounds and end at Sutton Park.
A parade and ceremony also will take place in Parrish at 7550 Fort Hamer Road at 10 a.m. and, at the Sarasota National Cemetery Patriot Plaza, 9810 State Highway 72, Sarasota, there will be a Mass at 3 p.m.
