Holmes Beach police arrested Devon Guidry, 29, of Bradenton, Nov. 23 on a second-degree felony charge for alleged burglary of an unoccupied structure.
Guidry also was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for trespassing and a second-degree misdemeanor for loitering.
The charges stem from a pair of incidents Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.
On Nov. 22, an officer responded to reports of a man running through residential backyards between 30th and 31st streets and was flagged down by an Island Vacations Rentals employee who was inspecting a rental unit that was believed to be vacant when a man, later identified as Guidry, was found inside. He appeared to have slept the night prior in the property without permission.
Another officer located and detained Guidry on the beach. HBPD then contacted the rental company owner, who wanted Guidry trespassed and released, so that was done.
On Nov. 23, an officer responded to reports of a man in the 3000 block of Avenue F who appeared to be screaming at himself.
The officer found and detained Guidry near the pool behind the Island Beach Club.
The complainant, a condominium owner and board member, said Guidry was found on the property without permission to be there and he wanted to file charges.
The rental company owner from the night before was contacted and agreed to file charges and complete a statement.
Guidry was arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail, where he remained as of Nov. 28 with a $650 bond.
If convicted, punishments for a second-degree felony charge include up to 15 years in prison, 15 years of probation and a fine of up to $10,000.
First-degree misdemeanors carry up to one year in jail, one year of probation and a fine of $1,000.
Punishments for a second-degree misdemeanor include up to 60 days in jail, probation and a fine of up to $500.
An arraignment will be Jan. 9, 2026, at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
