Pier walkway pile-driving ‘about halfway done’

Birds rest Dec. 9 atop pilings driven by Tampa Bay Marine for the new walkway at the Anna Maria City Pier. Mayor Mark Short wrote in a Dec. 10 email to The Islander that TBM was “about halfway done with getting the piles in the water” and that process will be complete “shortly after the holidays.” TBM’s next steps will be to measure and cut down the pilings, then start connecting them with cement bents and pilings, according to Short.
