Cortez

Dec. 29, 4528 119th St. W., Cortez Kitchen, burglary. A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of an unknown man at the business after hours. The MCSO reported loud music and observed plastic cups on the bar, some containing wine. A nearby fisherman told deputies the man offered him a beer. Deputies also noted the cooler appeared to be forced open. The MCSO arrested in the case.

Holmes Beach

Jan. 6, Manatee Avenue, arrest warrant. A Holmes Beach police officer conducted a traffic stop on a motorist with an expired registration. The officer identified the driver and passenger, who had an active arrest warrant in Manatee County. The officer arrested the passenger and transported her to the Manatee County jail.

Jan. 8, 800 block of Manatee Avenue, marijuana. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a motorist with an expired registration. The officer spoke with the occupants and smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle. The occupants had no medical marijuana license. Upon searching the vehicle, police found packages of marijuana and a container of suspected edibles. The officer confiscated the items for testing and told the occupants that they would be charged if the items tested positive for a controlled substance.

Jan. 9, 7000 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A man called the Holmes Beach Police Department to report that multiple items left on his porch were stolen.
