Contractor on final stretch of walkway foundation

Tampa Bay Marine employees work April 15 on framing bents near the end of the Anna Maria City Pier’s walkway. TBM project manager Pedro Lopez told The Islander April 17 that the contractor had set bents and laid concrete slabs across two-thirds of the walkway. Now, TBM is working to install three more pilings — the original plan was to use three existing pilings, but they were found to have sustained damage from the 2024 storms — and finish setting the foundation for the walkway’s final third, according to Lopez.
