Island police reports

Streetlife is based on incident reports from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach police departments.

Anna Maria

April 4, 100 block of Palmetto Avenue, theft. A beach wagon valued at $2,500 was taken from a public access area.

April 6, 419 Pine Ave., AM I Coconuts, shoplifting. The MCSO responded to a report of shoplifting and interviewed store personnel. A report was filed.

Bradenton Beach

April 4, 1407 Gulf Drive S., Coquina Moorings, crash. The MCSO responded to crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle in a parking area. The pedestrian was conscious and alert. The motorist left but returned.

April 5, 2650 Gulf Drive S., Coquina Beach, threats. A parking dispute escalated when a driver allegedly threatened another individual while attempting to park. The driver left before authorities arrived.

Cortez

April 3, 4200 block of 126th Street West, battery. A complainant reported a man pushed him and bumped his girlfriend while they were cleaning their assigned dock space. A man was arrested.

Holmes Beach

April 6, 100 block of 52nd Street, underage alcohol/marijuana. An officer responded to a noise complaint and found a group of young people on a bench drinking alcohol. A 20-year-old had an open can of alcohol and a joint but had a medical marijuana license. A 21-year-old on felony probation and carrying 1.4 grams of marijuana, was arrested and went to jail.
