Island police reports

Bradenton Beach

May 17, 700 block of Gulf Drive North, neglect. An MCSO deputy responded to a report of unattended children in a vehicle. Deputies located the parents and issued a citation for leaving the children unattended.

Cortez

      No new reports.

Holmes Beach

May 14, HBPD, 5801 Marina Drive, hit-and-run. A man reported his vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run. He said he left it parked at Manatee Public Beach and noticed it damaged hours later. An HBPD officer completed a report.

May 17, 7200 block of Gulf Drive, civil dispute. There was a dispute between beach vendors. One said he was selling ice cream when a waterborne hot dog vendor yelled to beachgoers not to buy the ice cream, then threw ice cream sandwiches to people. The hot dog vendor remained anchored offshore and refused to speak with police.

May 17, Publix, 3900 E. Bay Drive, shoplifting. A store manager reported a woman left without paying for items and drove away when confronted.

May 18, 3100 block of Avenue E, suspicious circumstances. An officer was dispatched to a rental property where someone appeared to occupy the unit unlawfully.

May 18, Anna Maria Beachfront Resort Motel, 6306 Gulf Drive, suspicious circumstances. A complainant said she left a rented low-speed vehicle parked at a charging station at the resort, but returned to find it missing. The officer issued case cards to the complainant and Fun and More, the LSV owner.
