Coquina Beach runners take off for 5K

Athletes take off in the Run Manatee Coquina Beach 5K July 8 at Coquina Beach in Bradenton Beach. The event — a sell-out with 400 runners — was presented by Run with Purpose Nutrition and organized in partnership with Manatee County. Spectators also numbered about 400 people. The top winners of the race are, first-place male Landon Lindsay of Lawton, Michigan; first-place female Jessica Miller of Parrish; and first-place 12 and under Jaethan Zuniga of Bradenton. Another run will be held in November at Rye Preserve. A percentage of the proceeds from the Coquina Beach race will benefit the Center of Anna Maria Island. More online: islander.org.
