Holmes Beach police arrested Tampa resident Riley Tennant, 31, July 10 on a second-degree misdemeanor charge for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
An officer found a vehicle without a license plate double-parked in the lot outside Walgreens, 3200 E. Bay Drive, July 9, and the motorist, Tennant, displayed signs of impairment.
Tennant failed field sobriety exercises and, at the HBPD, provided two breath samples of 0.000, as well as a urine sample.
At the Manatee County jail, a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy evaluated Tennant and found him “under the influence of CNS depressants.”
Tennant was released from jail July 15, after posting $500 bond.
If convicted, punishment for a second-degree misdemeanor includes up to 60 days in jail.
An arraignment will be Aug. 13 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
