July 3, 100 block of Gull Drive, information. A man playing basketball in his bare feet complained to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy about receiving a parking ticket and alleged the officer’s vehicle ran over his foot. When a second deputy arrived, the man acknowledged he’d been drinking and that the officer had not run over his foot.
July 7, between the Rod & Reel Pier, 875 N. Shore Drive, and Passage Key, domestic battery. An argument ensued after a couple ate and drank at the pier restaurant, and the man apparently didn’t want his girlfriend to drive their new personal watercraft. At one point, the man jumped onto the PWC and was yelling at the woman. She jumped off, allegedly to swim to a boat anchored near Passage Key. The man grabbed the woman and she bit him. The man called emergency responders, saying the woman was trying to harm herself. MCSO deputies responded, arrested the man and transported him to Manatee County jail.

Bradenton Beach
July 19, 2600 block of Gulf Drive North, abandoned scooter. A Bradenton Beach police officer attempted a traffic stop before a man on a 2006 Vespa scooter dumped the vehicle and ran away. The scooter was towed.

Cortez
July 9, 4400 block of 123rd Street West, Baker Act. A male called EMS, saying he’d taken 100 pills and threatened to harm himself. MCSO responded, determined he could hurt himself and transported him to Blake Medical Center.

Holmes Beach
July 12, 20 block of Seaside Court, burglary. A woman reported cash and a tin of coins missing from a home she was watching. The woman told police she’d put $1,125 in a desk several days earlier. Holmes Beach police determined there’d been no forced entry.
July 13, 200 block of 76th Street, warrant. HBPD was alerted to the whereabouts of a probation violator. An officer arrested the woman and transferred her custody to a MCSO warrants deputy.
July 13, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, domestic. Two sisters argued while leaving the beach. One sister told HBPD the other sister lunged at her, punched her with a closed fist and drove away. HBPD filed for a warrant for the aggressor’s arrest.
July 14, Dollar Tree, 3260 E. Bay Drive, warrant. An officer responded to a tip about a woman with an outstanding warrant working at the store. HBPD arrested the woman and transferred custody to an MCSO warrants deputy.
July 14, 5500 block of Marina Drive, domestic violation. An officer responded to a trespass call and learned a man was violating a domestic injunction, but the man left the area after being warned of the 500-foot prohibition. HBPD issued a request for a warrant arrest.
