Island police reports

Streetlife is based on incident reports from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach police departments.

Anna Maria

Aug. 4, 500 block of Pine Avenue, Anna Maria, near drowning. Emergency personnel responded to a reported near drowning involving a 2-year-old at a backyard pool. The child was unresponsive for a short time after being removed from the water, but regained consciousness and was breathing normally when emergency personnel arrived. The child was transported for medical care.

Bradenton Beach

No new reports.

Cortez

Aug. 4, Fire and Stone Pizza, 10519 Cortez Road W., burglary. The MCSO responded to a break-in at the defunct restaurant. According to the report, a caller said the incident occurred in the morning.

Holmes Beach

July 28, 100 block of 73rd Street, attempted burglary. The HBPD responded to a report that a party arrived to their rental residence to find signs of a forced entry. They reported the damage to the owner, who requested they file a police report. An officer photographed the damage and placed a broken door handle in storage.
