Three teams emerged from pool play and advanced to the knockout stage during Sept. 30 horseshoe action at the Anna Maria City Hall horseshoe pits.
The team of Sam Samuels and Neil Hennessey drew the bye into the finals and watched as the team of Hank Huyghe and Dom Livedoti eased past Tim Sofran by a 21-18 score. Huyghe and Livedoti then took out Samuels and Hennessey 21-14 to earn the day’s bragging rights.
Hennessey bounced back during the Oct. 3 games, earning the day’s only 3-0 pool-play record to win the outright championship.
Play gets underway at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday at the Anna Maria City Hall pits. Warmups begin at 8:45 a.m. followed by random team selection.
There is no charge to play and everyone is welcome at 10005 Gulf Drive.
